A Harvest Full of Healthy Eating

It’s that time of year, in beautiful West Michigan where the smell of apple pies cooking in ovens bring back wonderful Fall memories. Ahh….Fall. Actually I tend to go into the Fall season kicking and screaming just because I know what Season follows and I’m never ready to settle in for the Winter.  In the meantime, I will try to enjoy the abundance of harvest and all those delicious apples.

Apples are not only low in calories, inexpensive, and a great source of fiber, but they can help to lower cholesterol too.  Research from the University of Iowa suggest NOT to peel them though as the skin may help build muscle and reduce blood-sugar levels. Who knew!

I happen to love a sliced apple with peanut butter thinly spread on it. What are some of the ways that you enjoy apples?
