Hi there, and thanks for checking this site out. If you’re reading this, I know you must be at a place where you’re at least willing to look at losing weight with fresh eyes. I’m so excited that you’re taking the first steps in discovering how you can lead a more healthy, fulfilling life in a way that makes sense to you. Let me tell you a little about myself.
I began working with individuals several years ago who expressed an interest in exploring how their mental health (often) relates to their physical health, and how their psychological roadblocks (thoughts/feelings) often hinder them with their weight loss attempts.
While coaching individuals, or with groups, I became interested in assisting people with exploring their weight loss issues from a “psychological perspective” by using a cognitive behavioral approach that helped dieter’s successfully identify their thoughts and patterns (that often lead to emotional eating and behaviors associated with weight gain).
With a Masters degree in Counseling Education and Counseling Psychology I have had the privilege of coaching people who are interested in weight loss by providing education, strategies, and support for those that want assistance in identifying cognitive behavioral techniques that they can implement immediately and achieve successive small changes in their weight loss thinking and behavior – which can add up to huge overall changes!
I have enjoyed working with people and encouraging them to discover how weight loss can be achieved with a different focus, and with a different way of thinking.
